What is Zytransact?

Zytransact is a secure, web-based, gateway to allow you to process credit card and EFT transactions through your web site.  If you sell products or services through your web site, you need a means to process the credit card transactions.  Transactions must be done in a secure manner, and the transactions should be processed in real-time so you don't have to re-enter the card charges manually each time you make a sale.  Zytransact offers this service in a completely online service.

Do I need special software to use Zytransact?

No.  Zytransact is purely web based.  All you need is a web browser.

How is Zytransact better from other, similar services?

The following specific items are what make Zytransact superior to other services:

1.  No long-term contract or lease (we are month-to month)
2.  We work with existing merchant accounts (many services require you to open a new merchant account).
3.  Low monthly fee, and no additional discount fees.

Does signing up for Zytransact mean I can accept credit cards?

No.  The merchant account is a separate service.  This is always the case.  Some companies will bundle the two services and this might give the impression that the gateway service and merchant account are the same, but this is really just a way to get you to pay for both services with one company.  We can get you set up with a merchant account, but we make it clear that the two are separate.

Why does Zytransact have separate prices from the EFT service?

The Zytransact service is the secure gateway service.  Both the credit card merchant account and the EFT accounts are separate.  The EFT prices refer to pricing charged by our EFT provider (Finet).  The credit card merchant account fees will be charged by the credit card merchant account provider.

Do I need a shopping cart to utilize Zytransact?

No.  You can, of course, use a shopping cart if you want.   We even offer a free cart.  If you have an existing cart, we can let you know if it has a module that is compatible with us.  But you can use a simple web form if you want.  Our control panel has a form wizard to help you set up the form.

Can I use my existing credit card merchant account with Zytransact?

Yes.  This is one of the advantages of our service over other, similar services.  The vast majority of merchant accounts are compatible with our service.  Sometimes we need to talk to your bank to explain the software we use.  Also, if you are not currently accepting online transactions, you will need to advise your bank of your plans.  But we almost always can  get existing merchant accounts connected to our system.

Can customers outside the U.S. use Zytransact?

It depends.  We do not have a means of setting up foreign customers with credit card merchant accounts.  However, if you have an existing merchant account and you use a compatible processing network, you can probably connect to our system.  If you are outside the United States and want to use our system, please contact us.

Can my recurring transactions be charged automatically by your system?

Yes, you can have transactions processed monthly, weekly or however often you wish.  It is simple to set up and modify such transactions and it can be done with both credit cards and electronic check transactions.

What does Zytransact offer if I already have a credit card merchant account?

It offers the ability to have your customers make payments online, securely, in real time.  If you have an existing merchant account and don't have a service like Zytransact, then you would have to enter new transactions manually.  Also, your online transactions won't be secure.

I don't have a credit card merchant account.  Should I get one through you?

It depends.  If your business is new, then you probably want to apply through us.  However, if you have an existing business, we suggest you first check with your current business bank.  We want you to get the best deal, so we recommend going with whomever charges the least.

I have a merchant account, how do I get it set up to work through Zytransact?

Go to our order page and place an order.  We will send you some forms to fill out.  Once we receive those forms, we will get you set up, usually within 48 hours.  Sometimes there is a slight delay as we try to work with your bank to get you connected.  If it is a bank we work with regularly, then the set up will go very quickly.

My bank hasn't heard of Zytransact, will they be able to process payments through Zytransact.

This is a common situation.  Normally, we just need to talk to them to explain the software we use and how to set up the connection.  Don't be concerned if they haven't heard of us.

Can card transactions be processed manually?

Yes, you can process transactions manually through the "Virtual Terminal" on the Zytransact control panel.  It is very easy to do, and many of our customers process transactions manually for phone orders.

Why does Zytransact charge separate fees from the credit card merchant accounts and EFT processing

The Zytransact service is the secure gateway service.  Both the credit card merchant account and the EFT accounts are separate.  The EFT prices refer to pricing charged by our EFT provider (Finet).  The credit card merchant account fees will be charged by the credit card merchant account provider.

What is the difference between EFT and ACH?

These terms are used interchangeably. They both refer to the manner in which funds are electronically sent via the Federal government's clearing house system. ACH, Automated Clearing House, refers to the government's system that supports electronic transfers. EFT, Electronic Funds Transfer, refers to the process in which funds are sent through this clearinghouse system. Using either term is appropriate when referring to direct deposits and automatic payments debited from checking and savings accounts.

Will I be accepted for electronic check processing?

Most businesses are accepted, but we can't guarantee anything.  However, on the small chance that you are declined, we do have an alternative that offers the ability to use the Zytransact service and have the checks mailed to you through regular mail rather than EFT.

Does this service work outside of the U.S.?

No.  Currently, this system only works through the U.S. Clearinghouse system.

What are the fees for this service?

In addition to the fees we charge for the Zytransact service, Finet, our EFT provider, charges $15 per month, 50 cents per transaction, and a 1%  discount fee.  Please see our prices page for complete fee information.

If I'm not accepted, will I lose my sign-up fee?

No.  If you apply for either the EFT service or the credit card merchant account service through Zytransact, you will not owe anything if you are declined.  There is absolutely no risk for applying.

Do I need a special bank account to accept the EFT payments?

The EFT service works through any U.S. bank.  You do not need to set up a special account to use our service.  However, you do need a business account.  The service will not work through personal accounts.

Can any business accept EFT payments?

Travel businesses and adult businesses will not be accepted.  Most other business will qualify.
